FMS#239

Hi everyone!!!

Today I've spent a lot of time trying to work through my hundreds and hundreds of e-mails that came in during the last three weeks - have such a lot to do still, but slowly I will hopefully get through everything!!!!

This morning I took some time to make a card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!!!  This is the sketch:

and my take on it:

Leaves stamp and die and butterfly die from PTI.
Chevrons cut with a Tim Holtz die.
The sequins was a gift from my sweet friend Rosemary Dennis from 'Hey There ....rosigrl!'  Thanks again, friend!!!
Given the butterfly a tread nest to sit on and used some silver and grey glitter paper for some sparkle!!!!
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

I've played a bit with Gimp adding text to my photo's and I also had some fun taking more photo's of my card:

I'm off to the kitchen to attend to the Chicken Pie I'm preparing for supper and I have to fit in a few rows of knitting tonight and work through some more e-mails!!!  Monday night is also Survivor night over here - will be watching the next episode of Blood vs Water!!!

Thanks so much for popping in and hope to see you again, soon!!!

  21. I use gimp for my cards too. There is probably a whole lot more I could do with that program but I am always too much in a hurry to learn more! I love your take on the sketch! Love all the elements including the vellum and string!

  23. Seriously fantastic work!! That butterfly is absolutely amazing with your congratulations sentiment (I didn't forget what your sentiment said!). You have a way of depicting nature so well Petra.. And why wouldn't you with your talent and flare for all things gorgeous. So crisp and white softened by the vellum so eloquently placed. Arrows are also so tricky and can be hinderance, but not you Petra.. You plant arrows as part of the card blending right into its environment. Not to point something out but yet it subconsciously does, I think. Again if this didn't win I would be super surprised... So, so pretty Petra!!

  25. Another layered work of art Petra my friend!! Love the softness of that pretty vellum panel and the scalloped border. The chevrons point to highlight that beautiful butterfly and that bit of sparkle from the glitter paper lifts it to new heights of gorgeousness!! You are an inspiration! Hazel xx
