This time it's not sewing and knitting that kept me away from my cardmaking, but scrapbooking!! Yes, I have been busy experimenting with mixed media and I am having loads of fun!! I am not artistic at all and do not know anything about paints and mists and pastes, ect but we are fortunate enough to have the internet, so that is where I am learning all about mixed media scrapbooking.
I want to share with you 2 layouts that I have made. I love how these 2 layouts turned out and think that for a start it's not too bad!! I have in fact entered them both for a mixed media competition in a local magazine.
The first layout is one with a photo of myself that my son took last year.
The materials I've used are the following:
Background paper: KaiserCraft
Dala Acrylic Texture Paste
Stanley Impressions stencil
Iris Acrylic paint: Titanium white
Crafter's Choice Scrumbling medium
Metalic Powder
Marker pen
Couture Creations Doily Die
Clear Embossing Powder
Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist: Perfect Copper
Brilliance Lightning Black inkpad
Ranger Distress ink: Black soot
Ranger Distress crackle paint
Lace
Prima paper roses
Petaloo paper leaves
Great Impressions leaf stamp
Staz-On inkpad
Chipboard letters and butterfly
Pearls

Here is the second layout of my DH. My husband is a very keen birder and loves plants and trees and everything nature has to offer. We love hiking and this photo was taken on one of our hiking trips.
The title is in Afrikaans and says 'I'm at my happiest in nature'.
