This is my card:

I've sponged some cs with three DIs and then adhered some dry wall tape onto it.  I spritzed it with water and then put some black watercolour paint droplets on the wet surface and left it for a while.  When I removed the dry wall tape I had my bg.
The rest was eazy peezy.
Letters cut with Tim Holtz alphabet die.  I layered five layers of cs for the letters and gave it some shine with Clear 3D Gloss.
Part of the sentiment heat-embossed on vellum.
Added a black strip at the bottom and three black plastic dots.

RS#148 and Mojo Monday #380

Hi everyone!!

I've got two cards to share with you.  First up is my entry for the sketch challenge over at the RetroSketches Blog.  This is the sketch to work with:

and this is what my card looks like:

I discovered this little guy in a bow with goodies that I mainly use for scrapbooking.  I bought it some time ago and thought I would use it on a kids card, but when I had a look at him today, I changed my mind and decided  to make a fun Valentine's card in stead
I computer generated the sentiment and printed it on vellum.
I wasn't sure if the word 'dude' was referring to a guy or a girl (as I have in mind here) so I had a look around and found this explanation in the Urban Dictionary:
       1) n. a name for anyone (stereotypically used by male surfters/skaters but now accepted by any       race, sex, religion, and wealth) .
So I think it's OK to use it here - let me know if you think 'dude' definitely refers to a male person only and I should rather change the sentiment. (will work out a way to do that without ruining my card!!!)

Next up is another card I made with today's sketch on the Mojo Monday.Blog.  (Apologies for saying in my previous post that it is a sketch by Julee - it's by Teresa Kline)
.

I have made a masculine card using the sketch:

Used dp by Heidi Swapp.
Image stamp from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.
Added some dry wall tape again and rounded it off with black plastic dots and rhinestones.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

That will be it for today - thanks for popping in!!

Keep well!!!
Kind regards
Petra

Mojo Monday 380

and my take on it:

Super quick and easy to make!!!

Thank you for visiting and have a great start to your week!!!

Keep well!!

Sunday 11 January 2015

CTS#105 and Fusion

Hallo everyone!!!

Hope you're enjoying the Sunday so far!!!  We had a lovely buffet lunch at the world famous Fancourt hotel and now the boys have gone fishing, so I've got some time to spend in my craft room, with no one blowing in my neck to play Minecraft on my computer!!!

I have three cards to share with you today.
First up is the card I am entering for the challenge over at the Fusion card Challenge Blog.  They are celebrating their first birthday and what great challenges they have bought us during 2014!!!!  I didn't play as much as I would have liked to, but this year I will hopefully have time to play their game more often - it is such great fun to work with both a photo and a sketch!!!!

I've used elements from both the photo and the sketch to make this card:

Dp from Teresa Collins.  Borderpunch from Upikit.
Flower stamp and die from Verve.  Bg stamps used on chalkboard, from Glitz.
Heat embossed the chalkboard frame with gold EP.
A button with a twine bow, some rhinestones and a paper clip added to finish it off.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Happy Birthday'

Next up is my entry for the sketch challenge over at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog.

This is my card:

Dp from Teresa Collins.
Stamps and 'U' die from Verve.
I've used clear 3D Gloss to add the shiny circles to the card,  I have also given the 'U' some shine with the 3D Gloss.
Added a twine bow and black plastic dots as finishing touches.

My last card just happened while playing with bits of dp paperand cs at my craft table last night.
I quite like how it turned out so I thought I would share it with you.

Dp from Heidi Swapp.
Used some Spellbinder dies.
Arrow stamp by Verve. Cogs cut with X-cut dies from Do Crafts.
A paper clip, rhinestones and some black plastic dots round it off.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Best Wishes'.

Ok, I'm off - would most probably be back tomorrow with a Mojo Monday card.

Thanks so much for popping in - your visits and comments are always much appreciated!!!

Have a super Sunday!!!
