CTS #82

Hi everyone.

Friday again and that means weekend and that also means schools have closed for the winter break here!!!  Three weeks of relaxing and sleeping late and no taxiing of the kids!!!   I think I enjoy the school holidays even more that the kids do!!!!  Will hopefully have lots of time to be creative!!!

On to today's card.  This is the new sketch for the week over at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog:

and my card:

The sweet little guy was part of a stamp set I got very long ago as part of a free gift with a magazine.
I coloured him with old fashioned coloured pencils and gave the daisy some shine with stickles.  The sentiment stamps are part of the 'You & I' set by Verve.
Added scorelines on the sides meeting at the bottom righthand corner.
Finished it off with bling.

This photo shows the scorelines nicely:

Thanks for visiting!!  Have a lovely weekend!!

Till next time
Kind regards

NBUS challenge #1

Hi everyone.

Back with another post.  This time I'm taking part in the new challenge Darnell Knauss has running on her blog till tomorrow.  And if you don't know who Darnell is, (any cardmaker in Blogland NOT knowing Darnell???  Nearly impossible, I'd say!!!) I suggest you hop onto her blog, djkardkreations.com straight away!!  Believe me, you won't regret it!!!  Darnell has a super sense of humour - visiting her blog will guarantee a good laugh and having fun!!!  She is a very talented cardmaker and it's always a pleasure to see her lovely creations.

Visit this post, http://www.djkardkreations.com/2014/06/nbus-challenge-1-celebration.html of Darnell to find out more and then join in the fun!!!

So here's my card:

The stamp I've used is one that I got at a local craft shop long, long time ago and I have never inked it before, so it's perfect for Darnell's challenge.  Always liked it, but never used it!!
'Leaf Filled Flourish' and 'Mini Royal Roses' dies by MFT.
Added some bling and black pearls and you might be able to see the score lines I've added.
Afrikaans sentiment saying:  'Just for You'.

That will be it for today!!

Always a pleasure to have you here - thanks for the visit!!!

Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

Mojo Monday 351

Hi everyone.

I've been wanting to post my card for the current sketch challenge at the Mojo Monday Blog since Monday already, but just hadn't get to it.  Here is Julee's sketch she has given us to work with this week:

and my card following the sketch:

I've turned the sketch on it's side.  The two pieces of dp are by Teresa Collins.  The bottom panel is vellum and I've stamped the Verve, VS-09-PJ016 Daisy on it.  The chevron stamp is from the 'Borderline' set, also by Verve.  Dies I've used:  Tim Holtz Alterations Lattice die, MFT 'Leaf-Filled Flourish' and 'Winter Rose'   Added two score lines at the top and rounded it off with bling.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Finally posted this card now!!!

Thanks for visiting!!!  Keep well!!!
Till next time
Kind regards

CTS#81 and Fusion challenge

Hi everyone.

Taking part this time in the joint challenge from the ladies at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion.

This is the inspiration photo and sketch they have given us to work with:

I have followed the sketch and used the colours in the inspiration photo.
This is what my card looks like:

I have used my Tim Holtz Chevron die to cut the chevron and added gold inlays in a few of the chevrons.  Leaf stamp and coordinating die from Verve ('Bloom & Grow' set) and the flower is the 'Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose' from the Die-namics range by MFT.  Added some gold embroidery thread and a pearl and stamped the sentiment saying:  'Congratulations'.

Thanks for taking the time to pop in!!  Always a pleasure to have you here and to read your comments!!!

Till next time!!!
Kind regards.

AAA challenge #8

Hi everyone.

Back with a second post for the day, this time for the current challenge over at the AAA Challenge Blog.  The challenge this week is to CASE this beautiful card created by Vicki:

Here is what I have created:

I've done my sponging with Stormy Sky and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks, but that surely doesn't look like Shabby Shutters on the photo!!  - supposed to be a bright yellowish green colour, but it looks like a caramel sauce colour!!!!
Used my new Tim Holtz Alterations Lattice die to cut a stensil for my sponging.
I love this daisy stamp by Verve (VS-09-PJ016) and the leaves are also by Verve from the 'Bloom & Grow' set.  Fussy cut the daisy and mounted it on foam tape onto my card.  The leaf was die-cut with the corresponding die from the 'A CUT above DIES' range by Verve.
Afrikaans sentiment says: 'Thank you very much'.
Wanted to add something red, as Vicky have on her card, so I opted for tiny red pearls as I don't have any enamel dots. (yet!!  Hope to have some shortly!!!)
Not my normal kind of layered style, but I do like how it turned out.

Will do my Mojo Monday post tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting!!  Always a pleasure to have you here!!!

Kind regards
Petra

RS#120

Hi everyone.

I had so much fun in Blogland yesterday visiting you all, I had lots of inspiration to make two cards.  First up is my card for the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.  The moment I saw this sketch I knew I had to take part!!!  Lots of lovely layers just as I like it!!!
So here's my card:

and the sketch:

For my card I used some pieces of scrap paper from Teresa Collins and SimpleStories, lying all over my desk.  The star (by Kaisercraft) I have heat-embossed with white EP on black cs, fussy cut and mounted it on foam tape onto my card.  At first I wanted to add a big white flower (as always!!) instead of the star, but in the end I settled for the star.  Looking at the photo's now, I think I should maybe have gone for the flower!!! Too late now!!  What do you think - the star OK or should it have been a flower???  Can't really make up my mind!!!
Added silver rhinestones and 3 green brads that I discovered hidden away in a box with brads dating from the time I used to add brads to all my cards!!!  Snipped off the ends and glued them down - and they are the perfect colour match for the small piece of green dp on the card!!.  Finally added 2 washi tape strips and it was done!!!
O yes, almost forgot:  Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Will be back later with my Mojo Monday card.

Thanks for popping in. I always appreciate your visits and comments!!!

Have a lovely day!!

Kind regards
Petra
