Chalkboard cards and AAA card challenge

Hi everyone.

Second post for the day!
This time I'm taking part in the challenge on the new AAA cards Blog.

This is the card I'm entering into the challenge:

I heat-embossed my sentiment in white and used a Dew Drop Brilliance Platinum Planet inkpad to do the chalkboard effect.  In the photo it looks much whiter than IRL.  Tried to photograph it looking better, but it kept on shining very white, so I had to settle for these photo's.
Matted my chalkboard on a craft base and adhered to the card front on pop dots.  Daisies cut with the 'Flower Trio & Leaf Trio' dies from MFT.   Leaf stamp and die, as well as the 'Pennant Trim' die, from Verve.
Added my usual black rhinestones to round it off.
Afrikaans sentiment saying:  'Thank you very much'

I had so much fun making my card for the challenge I made two more chalkboard cards:

Flower stamp and die from the 'Joyful Blooms' set by Verve.  Used two bg stamps from Glitz on my chalkboard.  Added some silver rhinestones for a finishing touch.
Again my chalkboard looks terribly white in the photo.

And my third card:

Used a piece of dp by SimpleStories as a bg.  Leaf stamp from a local craft shop.  Painted my leafs with crackle paint for a interesting finish.    Added a twine bow and black rhinestones to finish it off.

I'm going to keep these cards till the end of the school year in December to give to the kids' teachers.

Thanks for spending time visiting me.  I always appreciate your visits and comments.

Have a lovely day and hope to see you again soon!

Kind regards.
Petra

Hi everyone.

Not that much time left to join in the Retrosketches #116 sketch challenge.
This is the sketch for the week over at the Retrosketches Blog:

I've made this card following the sketch:

The piece of dp I've used is form the 24/SEVEN range by SimpleStories.  The 'Hybrid Heirloom Rose' die is from the Die-namics range by MFT and the leaf stamp and die is from the 'Bloom & Grow' set by Verve.  Borderpunch by Upikit.  Circle cut with Spellbinders circle nesties.  Added a twine bow, black pearl and silver rhinestones to round it off.
Afrikaans sentiment saying:  'Congratulations'.

That will be all for now, will be back in a short while with my second post for the day.

Thanks for popping in.  Always a pleasure having you here.

Kind regards
Petra

Mojo Monday #346

Hi everyone.

Second post for the day.  This time joining in the fun over at the Mojo Monday Blog.

This is Julee's fun sketch:

and the card I've made:

For my card I've used four different Distress Inks and water on my craft sheet to color my cs.  I've stamped the dots with a bg stamp from Glitz and added a strip of washi tape.  The flower stamp is from the 'Lean on me' set by Verve and I've cut the flower with the corresponding die.  I have stamped the flower on black cs and heat embossed with white EP.  Stamped the flower again on the cut-off piece of the coloured paper and layered the two flowers and I love the look of it.  Stamped the Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Thank you very much'.  Stamped the chevrons from the 'Borderline' set by Verve and added the arrows from a piece of dp laying on my desk.  The main panel as well as the flower and arrows are on foam tape.  I have sprayed the coloured cs with Heirloom Gold, Perfect Pearls Mist for a bit of shimmer, but it does not show on the photo at all.

Not my usual kind of card, but I had a lot of fun creating it and I quite like how it turned out!

Thanks for popping in and have a lovely day!!

Kind regards
Petra

CTS#76

Hi everyone.

I had some fun making a card for the current sketch over at the CAS(E) this Sketch blog.

This is what the sketch looks like:

and this is what I have created:

For my card I've splattered some black paint on white cs and layered it on black cs.  Stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel with foam dots onto my card front.  Used some washi tape and dry wall tape as per the sketch.  Added a 'Fancy Flourish' and daisy die from the Die-namics range by MFT.  Added 3 silver rhinestones on the washi tape and in the top righthand corner as well as on the left below the sentiment.  (The rhinestones are difficult to see on the photo.)
The sentiment says: 'Thank you very much'.

That will be it for now.

Thanks for the visit and hope to see you again soon!!

Have a lovely start to the weekend!!
Kind regards
Petra

Mojo Monday #345

Hi everyone.

It's been a while since I have taken part in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge over at the Mojo Monday Blog.

Julee's sketch for the week looks like this:

I must admit that I struggled quite a bit to come up with something that I liked.  To me this was a very difficult sketch to work with.  Here's my card:

For my card I used dp from the 'Lady bird Collection' by Prima and the 'Daily Stories' collection by Teresa Collins.  Flower stamp from the 'Lean on Me' set by Verve , cut with the coordinationg die from the 'A cut Above' range by Verve.  Nesties circle die from Spellbinders.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: "Just for You'.
Added a bit of glimmer to the centres of the flowers with Stickles.

That will be all for now.  Thanks for popping in and hope to see you again soon!!!

Till next time.

Hi everyone.

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday  Over here it's almost bedtime, but before I go to sleep I want to post my card that I've made following the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.

Here is the sketch:

and it might be difficult to see, but I did start off from the sketch, and created this card:

I have moved the panel slightly to the right and the middle part is a piece of diagonally striped dp that I've covered with vellum and dry wall tape.  I've added a border punched strip on foam tape.  The flower I've done with cs and vellum.  Both the flower and flourish dies are from the Die-namics range by MFT.  The Afrikaans sentiment says: 'Congratulations'.  Added some twine again, some washi tape and rhinestones to finish it off.  The dp is from Teresa Collins.

Not much more to say about this card so I'll love you and leave you with that!

Till next time
Petra

Gift cards

Hi everyone!

Phew, I can't believe that nearly a whole month has passed since I did my last post!!!  I thought it was 2 or 3 weeks!!  Time really DOES fly hey!!!  I want to thank all of you who popped in to ask if I'm OK.  I am all well and going strong, just busy with so many things, I could not find the time to make cards.  During the coming week I'll take pics of some of the projects I've been busy with and share them with you.  At least this time I did not fall behind so badly on all my blogvisits!  I tried to keep up to date and visit you all!

Ok, on to some card stuff.
One of the ladies at my youngest son's school is retiring at the end of the month and will be leaving George to stay in Cape Town, where her children are.  I have previously made some cards for her, but she has used all of them by now.  As a good bye gift I am going to make a gift box with some cards for her again.  So the cards I'm sharing with you today are all going to be part of the gift box for her.

The first card was initially inspired by Jen Schultz's Deconstructed Sketch #150, but I got a bit carried away and ended up with this card:

Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Just for You'.

The second card was inspired by the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, but again carried away, I ended up with a card that is not really CAS!

Sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Third card inspired by last week's Retrosketches sketch:

Sentiment saying:  'Thank you very much'.

Playing around with some bits and pieces of paper and ending up with this card:

Sentiment saying: 'Just for You'.

Playing around with a lot of elements resulting in this card:

Sentiment saying:  'Congratulations'.

The last two cards are both previous sketches over at the Retrosketches Blog, but I like the sketches so much I decided to use them again:

Sentiment saying:  'Congratulations'.

Sentiment saying:  'Just for you'.

All dp used by Teresa Collins and stamps by Verve and Glitz.  Dies by MFT and Verve.

Before I go I want to share some pics of a feathered friend who came to say hello, again.
This one is a Fiscal Shrike.

Thanks for visiting, it's always a pleasure having you here!!!!

For those of you who are also celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, I wish you a lovely day with your loved ones!

Till next time
Petra
