ds#176 & PPA#226

Hi everyone!!!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!!

Combining two challenges again today.  The sketch challenge on Jen Schultz's Deconstructing Jen Blog and the colour challenge on the Pals Paper Arts Blog.

We went hiking this afternoon and I used the opportunity to take my card photo's next to a lovely stream on the route.
This is the card I have made:

The small leaf stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.  I fussy cut the leaves.
Chevron stamp by Verve.
Daisy and flourish dies by MFT.
Added some scorelines, dry wall tape and a twine bow.
Rounded it off with black plastic dots and a silver rhinestone.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Happy Birthday'.

The trail we did is at the campus of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, which is about ten minutes' drive from us.  The trail goes through lovely indigenous forests.  Here are a few photo's to show you what it looks like.

That will be all for now - have to be off to prepare supper!!

Thanks for popping in!!!

Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

I love when you show a sketch so I can see your take on it - you always ALWAYS make my imagination happy at the elements specially chosen by your magical fingers. This card looks fabulous with it's layers and textures, Petra! The hiking trail looks amazing and I can smell the clean scent of the great outdoors, just looking at them! hugs, de

I am so impressed you get outside and into nature -- me? I stamp. LOL Love your scored lines [well actually your card too, I adore tags on cards] they just JUMPED out at me - so perfect! Another fabulous creation

What a sweet card Petra. Love the tag with the fall leaves and the cute little flower... the twine is perfect. Looks like a nice trail. I am impressed that you took a card with you on a hike!

Wow! Beautiful card and beautiful scenery! You are so fortunate to have this lovely 'playground' just minutes from your door.

Your card is stunning! Another perfect display of a balanced design, lovely colors and amazing attention to detail - like the embossed borders and the lovely little sprigs of sweetness that accompany the twine bow!

As usual, a great take on the sketch challenge, and love the way you've interpreted it. The simple crisp white of the background with the scoring the flourish & delicate bow...and I thought I was seeing some drywall tape dimension...the earthtone colors of the tiny tag...really very pretty. Made even more so against the gorgeous scenic background. TFS the lovely photos...it is truly a lovely spot and how fortunate you were to have your family be able to spend a day enjoying the beauty of the countryside. And thank you for sharing it with Blogland too. Hugs
