CTS#132 & Mojo Monday #407

Hi everyone!!!!

Nearly cut-off time for the week at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog.
Have also done a Mojo Monday card which I will link at the Mojo Monday Blog.

I've shared with some of you how the cold has kept me out of the study where I have my craft area and my computer!!!!  It's freezing cold in here and that had me spending time in the much warmer lounge or in front of the fire in the family room.  But I missed making cards and spending time in Blogland, so I decided to do something about it!!!!  I have dug out our very old (nearly ancient!!!) heater  under lots of dusty boxes in the garage and put it right next to my crafting table!!!  And yes, thank goodness it's still working!!!  ...only problem is that hubby hates the thing and says it gives off a terrible scent and he's a bit grumpy having the thing in the house (...believes it might start a fire!!!)!!!  So now I have a very cosy craft area, but a grumpy husband!!!!  ...but I think I can handle the grumpy husband better than the cold!!!  LOL!!!!  I'm now happily stamping and blogging in my cosy craft area!!!!  So here's the two cards I want to share.

The sketch at CTS:

and my card:

Done my sponging with Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky, Scattered Straw and Black Soot DI's.
Don't have the details of the tree stamp - it's a very old wood block one.
Sentiment stamp from Verve.
Added three black plastic dots to finish it off.

The Mojo Monday sketch:

and my card:

Patterned papers from KaiserCraft.
Flower die from MFT.  Leaves stamp and die from PTI.
Sentiment banner dies from Verve.
Rings cut with Spellbinders nesties.
Added a  twine bow and lots of bling to finish it off.

I will be linking this card to my friend, Mynn Kitchen's Blog, too.  She is celebrating 5 years of blogging and has a give-away with some lovely prizes.  Hop over to her blog, On a Stampage and have a look.

Have to run to fetch the kids from school!!!

Thanks for popping in!!!

Wow, what a beautifully sponged and inked tree scene, Petra ... it's stunning! Gorgeous layering on your second card ... the white against those fab DPs really pops! So happy for you to be crafting in the warm ... even though it does mean a grumpy DH! Anita :)

Two wonderful cards Petra - I was quite surprised by the first one as it's so totally not your usual "style" but is absolutely gorgeous. Then I got over my surprise and saw your second card which is a fabulous take on the sketch. Sorry to hear about your cold but glad you've found your ancient heater and got back in the craft room.

Hugs.

Two beautiful cards, Petra! Both are lovely and it is always a pleasure seeing your take on the sketches. So sorry about the cold! Brrrrr! It is hot and miserably humid here! Be safe with that heater.... xo

LOL! Grumpy husbands are much easier to handle than a cold craft room! Gorgeous cards. Such a beautiful scene you've created in the first and your wonderful signature layers in the second! Love them!

Hey Petra! Thanks for the e-mail! It is actually I who should be apologizing because once again, your posts are not showing up in my e-mail!

I'd love to send some of the humid, hot air we are experiencing here! Crazy hot but it sure beats snow!

FABULOUS card! I love the Dare To Dream Big paper! Once again your eye for design shines bright as our summer sun! No surprise that I adore the sproinky thread but I'm also in love with your sweet design!

So nice to hear from you friend! Sure hope that the smelly heater keeps you warm :)

...whoops...me again! I thought the sympathy card was a separate post!

Your sponging is flawless - great choice of subtle colors creates such a soothing feel to your card. Another perfectly balance design! I love that tree stamp!

So very pleased your heater is still working my friend! We have been deprived of your stunning creations for FAR too long!! I love that simple, yet beautiful scene you created for the sympathy card, it is a very tasteful design for such a sad occasion! The second one is fabulously bold and I LOVE that arrangement!! Welcome back to blogland Petra!! Long may you continue to keep that cold at bay! have a lovely weekend my friend! Hazel xx

I am so happy you solved the cold problem (even though it created a hubby problem! LOL!). Such pretty cards. The sponged background is fantastic on the first card. Lovely scene with the sun and trees. Perfect for a sympathy card. Oh, those circles again. Awesome take on the sketch. I really like the layered flower. The wood grain background looks nice... and you know I love the twine embellishment. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

I see all that heat has flowed right to your brain and got your creative muscles working again! LOVE that simple, sponged scene. It's super pretty! And your second, eclectic black and white creation is so graphically gorgeous. I'm sure your grumpy hubby will perk up again soon. ;)

These are stunning cards, Petra! I particularly love the first one! You should do CAS more often, my friend! This is truly a work of art worthy of framing! Happy cozy crafting, but please do be careful that you don't walk away and leave your heater on! Enjoy the weekend!! Hugs, Darnell

So sorry to hear how cold it has been in your craft room--but glad you found the heater. I think that first card might be my all time favorite of your cards (so far, at least). Love the way those trees look silhouetted against your sponged background. What a soothing and beautiful sympathy card. And, your second card is just beautiful. Great way to incorporate patterned papers, and love the tone on tone stamping on your leaves. I always forget how dramatic that can be.
