FMS#212

Hi everyone!!!!

I had some fun playing with the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog!!!!
Here's the sketch:

and the first card I made using the sketch:

The snowman and snowflake stamps are part of a set of free stamps I got with a magazine very long ago.
I've embossed the snowflakes with clear EP and did the sponging with Stormy Sky DI.
Flourish and Notepad Edge dies from MFT.
Sentiment stamp from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.
Music paper form my stash.

While I was busy with my Christmas card I got the idea to make a shaker card, so I made this:

It's a piece of cork and micro beads on the inside of the shaker.
Flower and leaves dies from MFT.
EFs from Cuttlebug.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Can you believe this is my very first shaker card!!!  Am I late at the party or what????

Thank you so much for visiting and have a great weekend!!!!

You really are on an artistic roll my dear dear friend!! These are amazing!! The textures, the way you have overlapped the frames and made the patterned paper different within the overlap is genius!! The micro beads in the shaker window is inspired too!! Definitely some winners there for sure . . . and as you know, I'm seldom wrong about that!! Have a wonderful weekend my friend!! Hazel xx

Hoi Petra,
Groetjes,
GerJanne

Wow, your designs are amazing! I love them both! I love how you layered each element. The snowman is so cute! And the shaker card is wonderful - I keep looking at it trying to figure out how you made it hehe! Wonderful job! I love shaker cards!

Oh my, Petra! Beautiful designs. Love LOVE your snowman card. Beautiful earthy blue color and a great take on the sketch. I especially like the stitching in the thin horizontal blue layer. Your shaker card is equally lovely! Always so unique and interesting. Huggers, de

Hi Petra - absolutely lovely cards. I adore the first with the frames interlinking; it's so different and the second shaker card using the same method is striking.

Hugs.

Oh, I love both of these! The snowy made this such a delightful Christmas card, still done with your usual flair with frames, graphic shapes, and adding in the floral element. What a striking design! Also loved your shaker card (and I've never made one either, and the little heat tool that is supposed to be so helpful, is still in the package! One of these days). The inset shaker made me think of a flag the way you've combined the cork with the embossed shape, and yet still got in a lot of color interest with the scalloped border shape. So attractive, and so unusual. Just loved both of these! TFS & Hugs

It's so cool how you can make such different cards with the same sketch! Winter and summer have never looked better. Love the little shaker element with that corkboard.

The second I saw you sweet-as-can-be snowman paired with the music notes, I started humming Christmas carols. LOVE the peak of the snowflake in the bottom left corner and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the various shades of your blue-on-blue color scheme.

2nd card - wow! The textures and the clean design are the perfect way to highlight the bit of cork and the sweet boldly colored images!

But, the shaker element steals the show here dear friend and IS AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!

Another couple of great cards Petra! I love how you added the little musical paper in the middle of the two rectangles on the first card. How interesting that looks! And the seed beads on the shaker cards are so cool. I got some of those beads a while ago but haven't tried to use them in a shaker yet. You've inspired me so I want to now!!

Fantastic cards Petra. Love the darling little snowman with the flourish. The heat embossed snowflakes look wonderful on the background panel... along with the music sheet. The sweet little flower looks great on the second card. Love the textures panels.

Magic created with this sketch, not once, but twice! From the layers, to the shaker elements, to the sweet snowman on one and the lovely flowers on the other: knockouts!

You do everything superbly, Petra!! My very first shaker card was a circle cute smack in the middle of a plain card with only a sediment to go along. You have made yours a layered and textured work of shaker art!! I love your sweet snowman sketch make, too!! Hugs, Darnell

I love the Christmas version of this FM Sketch with that cute snowman and the snowflakes and music in the background and then the swirl and notebook edge in that pretty strong blue. Then the second has that wonderful pop of colour with the red scallop strip with the red and yellow flower and the green leaves and that touch of black twine and sentiment. The two bits of embossing add some texture as does the shaker which shows up beautifully with the micro beads against the brown cork. If you are late to the party with shakers then I must be too as funny enough I have just made my first shaker card but I haven't blogged it yet. x

Ze zijn weer prachtig Petra, afgelopen week ook een paar keer aan het stoeien geweest om een shakerkaart te maken. Ben eigenlijk op zoek naar dunne funfoam dan hoef je niet zoveel foamtape te gebruiken. We stoeien rustig verder.

These are fabulous! Love the glittery snowman and the fun layouts of both cards. What a great idea to put the cork behind your shaker element! I've never thought to do that.
