FMS#231, Fusion and CWS#1

Hi everyone!!!!

Warning:  this is going to be a picture heavy post!!!!

I've got three cards to share this evening!!!!
The first card is for this week's sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.  The sketch:

and my card:

Rose and leaves stamps from PTI.  Watercoloured with DI's.
I've got some scorelines at the top and left hand side of the splattered panel.
The glitter cs at the top and bottom are a lovely dark grey - looks like black in the photo.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Next up is a card I've made following the sketch at the Fusion Challenge Blog.

My card:

Butterfly stamp from Crafty Individuals.  Leaves stamp from Altenew.
Little stars cut with MFT die.  Flowers hand punched.
The sentiment is strip is matted on silver glitter cs and the three small strip at the top right is grey glitter cs.
Afrikaans sentiment saying:' Congratulations'.

For my third card I also used the Fusion sketch and I will link it at the new Creative with Stamps  challenge:

.
This is my card:

Butterfly stamps from KaiserCraft and Crafty Individuals.
Flower stamps from Altenew, heat embossed on vellum.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

That's my cards.  Now for some other stuff!!!
I said I would share photo's of the throw I knitted so here it is:

I've got a new Nikon D40 camera and I'm busy with online courses for Manual Photography.  Here are some photo's I've taken over the weekend.  I know all of these are so amateur, but hopefully with time I will come to take perfect pictures.  The focus of most of these aren't as sharp as I would like it to be.

This one I just had to do in B&W:

I went to the bathroom of a restaurant we visited and when I saw this I just had to get my camera to take a photo!!!!!

For those of you who are still here - thanks for taking the time to look at my photo's!!!!

I'm off to link my cards at the challenges and then it's time for the next episode of Survivor!!!!

Hoi Petra,

Stunning cards as ever Petra my friend! Love how you use lots of interesting layers and still manage to keep a card beautifully CAS!! Amazing talent!

I used to do photography in a major (amateur) way years ago - when it was all 35mm film, and there were no digital cameras - digital was a great development, but it meant the death of all my traditional camera equipment (we're talking 1000's GBP, collected with savings over a large number of years of course). I even took the photos for my two sister's weddings and various friends (which was quite nerve wracking then, as you never knew how they had turned out until they were developed!!

I now have a Canon D60 (even that is no longer manufactured now!!) and a number of compact cameras. I love your photos my friend, especially the macro shots - that was always my favourite branch of photography - and that loo roll holder is amazing . . . no wonder you had to go back and grab your camera!

Have a great week my friend! Oh, I nearly forgot, your throw is fabulous it looks so cosy and soft!! Hazel xx

Beautiful cards Petra. Love the lovely rose on the first one... what a great take on the sketch... the angled panel with the blings look awesome... oh, the butterflies are so pretty on the other two cards... those oval frames look really nice on the second... you always use those shapes so cleverly. Well done again, friend! Nice photos... I desperately need a new camera...

With each scrolling picture, I'm going "Wow" "WOW", and more wow! Love how you've clipped the pretty rose to add the embellie on #1, and of course I also love #2 & #3 for the wonderful colors, different elements that you add to embellish and the graphic shapes that you use so capably in your designs. Enjoyed seeing the pictures with your new camera (I admire you for taking a course. I should do that too! My Nikon is a great camera, it just has a lot of OE problems!) You definitely have an eye for composition and finding unusual and so interesting subject matter. I thought all your pictures were great, but I expect you'll be doing so much better after your course and - yeah, practice too! Good luck, looking forward to seeing your 'homework' along with your artwork! TFS & Hugs

I looked at your first card and thought, "winner." Then I saw card number two, and thought, "winner." And the same thing happened with your third card..."winner." Your wonderful style shines through in each card, and they are all really lovely. I especially love your FMS card. The throw you've knitted makes me want to cuddle up with it, and a good book and coffee; it is beautiful and looks so soft! Your photography is fantastic. I love the varied subjects, and the way you've captured the light and dark in each photo. I used to take tons in my younger days; loved my film Nikon. After the grandkids broke my last camera, I started just using my iPhone... After seeing your amazing photos, I'm wondering if I should invest in a new one. Anyway, what a great post, and wonderful cards, a stunning throw, and all topped off with brilliant photos! Bev

Hello Petra,
First off I had no idea you were multi talented!! Your throw is amazing and looks so cozy!! Love the neutral color and the fringes look like they would be fun to play with while on the phone :). You photographs are AMAZING.. If this is amateur then I better watch out for some major eye candy. Your eye for small everyday things is very good. The lock in b&w is very moving as is the chains. Your rose is well... rosey.. Seriously very pretty and composed so well. I have no idea what the yellow photo is but the spacial quality that you achieved with shadow and composition is also just wonderful!! The worn post attached with wire has a feeling of holding on and never letting go.. and lets not forget the amazingly funny toilet paper holder. Did you actually come back to the restaurant and take this picture. Hilarious my friend... And now for your fantastic card! Love the colors and your interpretation of the sketch is one of pure creativity. I would have never thought to create a pocket yet when I see your design it makes all the sense in the world! I saw you link right after mine.. Made me giggle to see I am not the only one waiting till the last minute. You asked about my b-day: August 3 now I would like yours as well:). Take care my friend and look forward to more of your pics AND cards..
All the best,
Shawna

Three more beautiful cards Petra and I love the rose which you have coloured with distress inks and flipping the sketch a quarter turn with the glitter paper and gems are at the top works really well. The double oval with the pretty butterfly and trailing leavs and flowers is so pretty and I love the Altenew flower stamps on the vellum and the bright yellow and black behind them really make them pop, also love those butterflies. That throw is gorgeous and love the fringe and your photos with your new camera are certainly not amateur. The scenery is fantastic where you live also love those arty shots and that rose is gorgeous. I look forward to seeing more as you progress with your camera. x
