#GDP035 and TimeOut#56

Hi everyone!!!

I've got two cards to share tonight!!!!

The first card I've made to link at the Global Design Project Blog where the theme for the week is: Project Life!!!!

You can enter cards as well so I made the following card:

I tried to get a PL feel by working with patterned papers that I cut into panels and rounded the corners to look like PL cards.  The patterned papers are from my stash and I don't know who it's from.
Leaf stamp and die from PTI.    Flower die from MFT.
The die cut word was a gift from a friend.
To add even more of a PL look I've put an acetate overlay on the 'happy' panel to have it look as if it's in a plastic pocket.

The next card I will be linking at the Time Out Challenges Blog where you are to CASE this card by Kay Miller:

I was inspired to make this card:

Leaves stamp and die from PTI.
Flower, flourish and note book edge dies from MFT.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Heartfelt Condolences'.

In my previous post I mentioned that I was busy with machine embroidery work and I've said that I will share photo's of what I've done, so here are the pillowcases I embroidered for a friend of mine's daughter:

It might not look like it, but a lot of work went into doing this!!!  I worked for hours to get to the point where I could finally sew the designs on the pillowcases.  But now I've got everything worked out and it will take a lot less time to do more of these.  I am doing these two sets for my niece, who is getting married in two week's time, too.   And of cause the idea came from Pinterest and I think it is going to become very popular shortly!!!  I'm considering making sets to sell.

I got an order for cards from the florist/gift shop in town that sells my cards, so I will be making lots of cards tomorrow and will hopefully have all ready by Tuesday to deliver at the shop!!!!

I'll be calling this a day now - going to link my cards quickly and then it's off to bed!!!!

Hope you're having a great weekend!!!!
Thanks for the visit and hope to see you again soon!!!!

Petra, I love that you made your own PL "cards to make you first card. A lot of PL cards are printed much the same as DSP, so it just goes to show how inter-changeable they can be in albums or cards, as you have shown here. Thanks for helping us showcase Project Life at Global Design Project this week.

Lovely cards Petra. The yellow flower is so pretty on the first one... rounding the corners of the panels did make the paper look like PL card... well done! Great idea! The white layered flower is so elegant on the second card. I also like the swirls and the green border. Amazing pillows! Love the style of the lettering.

Hoi Petra,

xx Irene

Your pillowcases are great. I have seen the idea on Pintrest and thought it's ultra cute. Do you have a special embroidery sewing machine or have you just done it with a normal machine?

That sunny yellow bloom against the black is gorgeous, Petra ... so dramatic ... and fabulous paired with the graphic DP! What a beautiful CASE of Kay's card ... the fresh green is just lovely with the crisp white ... and that delicate spray of splatter ... perfect! Those pillowcases are fantastic ... stylish and so much fun! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Hugs, Anita :)

Two beautiful cards, Petra. I especially love the card you made for Time Out--thanks for playing with us there. And, those pillow cases--what an amazing gift of love. They are beautiful and whimsical. I'll bet they sell like hotcakes, if you decide to make more of them to sell.

Wow, you have been busy Petra and the pillowcases are fabulous! Two beautiful cards too. The first is very striking with the pretty flower matching the background paper and the CASEing of Kay's lovely card is so elegant with the green, grey and white and your signature sentiment with white on black really stands out, also the prettily spattered background and pearls finish it so well. x
