CTS#186

Hi, everyone!!!!

It's been some time since I last posted!!!!   I've been very busy getting fit again and I've set myself the goal to walk at least 200 km (124.75 miles) during August!!!!  I've started on Monday the 1st and yesterday I've reached 203 km for the month!!!  With another week of the month left I should be able to reach 260km!!!!  Hubby and I have also started running again and we are following a lovely program to build our fitness gradually to hopefully be very fit again, soon!!!!  At this stage I'm hoping to do some half marathons again, next year, but there's still a lot of hard work to do before I will be ready for that!!!  After our run at 7 in the morning I do a 7.5 km (4.7 mile) walk and in the afternoons hubby and I do a 4.0 km (2.49 miles) walk!!!!!  And the wonderful bonus - I've lost more than 10 kgs (22 pounds) since 18 July when I started with all of this exercising - yeah!!!!  I've also been very busy getting all my stuff ready to hopefully be selected to have a craft stall, at a local church, over Christmas.  I have to submit photo's of all my products I would like to sell, by September, and then it's holding thumbs that they will like my stuff and allow me to have a stall!!!!  I think the Christmas Market at the church will be a much better option than the Farmers' Market I did last year!!!!

... on to cards and taking part in the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge!!!!!  This is the sketch for the week:

and I had such fun creating this card:

Leaves dies from Cheery Lynn - cut from silver glitter paper and green cs.
Flowers hand punched.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

That will be it for now!!!!  Thanks for popping it - hope to see you again, soon!!!

Aaaw, welcome back Petra sweet friend! I missed you! How inspiring are you, with your long walks, running and marathons? There should be no question whether you get a stall or not, as your creations are outstanding my friend! You are back with a totally awesome card too!! I love that softly blended corner and those sweet, sweet layered flowers and leaves!! The bling just draws the whole thing off in a totally, sparkling finish! Another winner here for sure! Have an amazing day my friend! Hazel xx

Oh Petra! I have missed you, too! Gorgeous little card in the gallery from you today. I always love those darling blooms - in ANY color! I am so proud of your goals, and you've achieved them all! I'm echoing Hazel... they all should be begging you to display! xx

Congratulations on finishing your goal! Way to go! Good for you! Wish I was that motivated... I am just plain lazy! LOL! Glad you had time to craft tough! I missed your beautiful creations. Those little flowers are so pretty and sweet. The black strip with the words look awesome... nice take on the sketch! What town are you located? I am so bad with names... anyhow... my crafting friend is moving to Johannesburg in November so I will give her your blog address so maybe she can get in touch with you... maybe you can give her tips where to get some local craft supplies. :)

Hi Petra!! What a beautiful card. I love how you can take a sketch like that and make something so beautiful. I'm not good with sketches. I can't think outside the box enough. I hope to get there someday. I really love the flowers. And the silver glitter paper goes so well with the green. I love that you ink blended the bottom corner. This card is just perfect!! My goodness, what a goal you have set and surpassed!!! Congratulations to YOU for achieving such a wonderful goal!!

This beauty is a winner, I'm sure! It's gorgeous in its simplicity and captures the sketch perfectly. I love those branches and flowers. The bling and splatters set off your take on the design just right. Wonderful card. And your goal...amazing, and wonderful!!! So happy for you, and it's so worth getting back into a good fitness routine, isn't it?! You're an inspiration, and I'm truly thrilled for you. Best of luck on the church craft fair, too. I know you'll get in and sell out!! Bev

Such a pretty card Petra and a great take on the sketch with those beautiful flowers and leaves on the slanted sentiment strip. Congratulations on your fitness regime and am sure you will be doing lots of half marathons next year. With all those miles under your belt it's no wonder you have lost so much weight but a good way to lose it. My hubby and I used to do quite a bit of walking but never more than about eight miles at a time. I think the longest walk we have had recently was about four miles mainly on the flat though, but we don't do it often enough these days. I'm sure when they see all the lovely things you are going to be selling they will give you your stall straight away. x

Congrats on your walking goals, Petra! I would love to join you. Sounds healthy, and I do love to work out, swim, and jog - but it's no longer in the cards for me. Still, it makes me happy thinking of doing those things again, and remembering when I could do them. So enjoy those walks, hikes, and other treasured moments, because they are good for you physically, and excellent for you emotionally!

I wondered what your card would look like after seeing your sketch - FANTASTIC take on it, and really great colors. I can visualize that some flowers along the way spoke to your heart during one of your walks. Hope your week-end is sweet! hugs, de

Liefs Thea

I've missed you and finally decided to look you up to make sure you're OK! Wow, I'm so in awe of your dedication to getting fit! I really need to do the same but just can't get my rear in gear. It's hard to be active when arthritis causes a lot of pain. :-( BTW...your card is such a lovely CAS design!

I said to myself, what has happened to my friend, Petra? So I came to have a look since I've been away a lot in the last couple of months. I think it's wonderful that you and hubby have set these amazing fitness goals and that you are succeeding! I hope that you are continuing to enjoy this new passion and that everything is all right in your world! I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and missing you!! Hugs, Darnell

I like Darnell came to see if you had posted anything recently but you are obviously extremely busy with your market stall makes and the fitness regime that you and Hubby have been undertaking which I hope is going well. I do hope when time permits you will give us an update. x
