FMS#271 and NBUS#8

Hi everyone!!!!!

A lovely new sketch up at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog!!!!

My card:

I will also be entering my card at Darnell's NBUS Challenge #8Darnell is asking us to use the technique of colouring on kraft and that is indeed a new technique for me.  I have coloured my flowers with pencils, but you can actually hardly see that I have coloured it!!!!  I have used white, a soft coral colour and a deeper pinkish pencil to colour the flowers.  I don't own any fancy colouring pencils, just the old fashioned ones we used at school ages ago, so that's most probably why the colouring doesn't show nicely - IRL it does look better than on the screen.   The bottom part of the sentiment is NBUS.
Sentiment stamps from Inspired by Stamping.
The flower stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.
Finished my card off with black plastic dots.

Such a pleasure having you here - hope to see you again, soon!!!!

Absoluut pragtig Petra. Jammer ek is so skaars, maar soos jy weet die lewe kom dikwels in die pad van dit wat ons regtig geniet xxx
"Such a beautiful project.
This will also be perfect for one entry as an anything goes creation for our challenge below."

You really nailed the FMS sketch, Petra. Those blooms have such a 'free' feeling to them, and in kraft against the black and white, they really pop. I like the colors you chose and in my world, it's not too much, not too little color, but just right! Great fonts on the sentiment, too. I like this one! Warm here today for January and our snow is nearly gone. Rain expected, which is unusual at this time of year - so gray and overcast... But I guess I'll just have to stay in my craft room and play! Have a great day. Bev

Lovely card Petra, the pop of colour on the flowers is perfect for an otherwise black and white card : )

Gorgeous card Petra. It is difficult to color on craft, it works better with soft pastel pencils, but your way looks great too. I love your choosen colorcombination and the way you've used the sketch...beautiful.

This FMS layout looks great with the kraft flowers Petra and the colours do show up. Kraft is not an easy thing to colour and generally speaking more waxy pencils leave a brighter coloured finish but you have done well with just basic pencils. A really pretty card. x

Wow, Petra, I think you've made a winner when it comes to that sketch! I love your card and really appreciate that you included flowers that you colored with pencils on kraft! It's been really great seeing all the artists who are giving this technique a try and finding out I was not the only one who hadn't tried it, haha! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell

I think the coloring look great! This is a beautiful card. I've always just used the same colored pencils that my kids use. :)

Saw this at Darnell's NBUS, and it's just beautiful! I love the pinkness of these kraft posies against the white background. The coloring on the kraft is so well done, and of course your layouts are always just wonderful! TFS
