VLV May Week 2 & PPA#252

Hi everyone!!!!

It's late already, but I want to post two cards before I'm off to bed.
First up is my card for the Week 2 sketch of the Viva La Verve challenge for May.
This is the sketch:

and my card:

Used my Daisy stamp from Verve as well as stamps from the Bloom & Grow, Friendly Phrases and Borderline stamp sets.
Verve dies used: Pennant Trim, Elegant Leaves and Charming Banner dies.
Chevron die from Tim Holtz.
Added sequins and black plastic dots to finish it off.

Oops, just spotted an ant on my card in the bottom photo!!!!

Next up is the sketch at the Pals Paper Arts Blog.
The sketch:

and my card:

Used two bg stamps by Glitz.  Sentiment stamp by Verve.
Daisies and leaves punched by hand.
Arrows cut with Tim Holtz chevron die.
Hexagons cut by hand.
Added my usual sequins and black plastic dots and it was done.

Have been busy with knitting over weekend and today, but will be visiting blogs again in the morning.

Ok, I'm off to bed!!!  Thanks so much for taking the time to pop in - your visits and comments are always much appreciated!!!

Till next time!!!!

Feels like forever since I've stopped by but I'm finally finished with all the spring yard work - garden is planted, plant pots are planted, flower beds have been weeded and prepped, fish are back in the pond....the list is endless BUT I LOVE IT!!!

My craft room was the last place I wanted to be these past few weeks!

You have been a busy lady with some incredible creations to show for your time! Seriously amazing work Petra! Absolutely adored every single card that you posted! You truly are blessed with talent and creativity!

Hope to be back more often now...will chat again soon dear friend :)

You have such a signature style, I would know a Petra card in any gallery. Hexagons are in, apparently because your cards are fantastic. As to the ant, well I guess he was attracted to beauty!

Your interpretations on the sketches are always so amazing. This is something I struggle with, even on simple ones. Which these sketches were definitely not simple! Love the dies & shapes, and the pops of color that you have going on each one. Loved the tiny ant that apparently liked #2 quite well too. How funny. Brilliant work, Miss P. TFS & Hugs.

Hi, Petra! Both cards are wonderful! I love the bright color contrast with your classic black and white. I especially enjoy your pretty "Afrikan" feel to your cards - no one makes designs like you do - so geometric, yet organic. My favorite is the top card with the subtle color change in your chevrons.

I am beginning to feel a little better. Still difficult to use my fingers, as my hand-eye coordination is very poor, and the fatigue is exhausting! LOL But I can sit up now for brief periods of time, and enjoy doing some things around the house. I have missed you and your pretty cards very much. love, de

Fantastic cards Petra. Love your take on the sketches. You always put an extra twist into your lay-outs. Love the chevron pieces, the little banners, the hexagons... the little flowers are so pretty with the gems.

Hello Petra, my friend!!! I read your comment on my blog and I see you have wintery weather!! I am with you, I love that little bit of extra sleeping in!!! I love your first card with all the movement your arrows evoke! Beautiful color on your flowers! Your second on is so fun again with the arrows! The fern leaves are a great touch to go with your daisies!!! Beautiful cards both of them!!!

Gosh, these 2 are amazing interpretations of the sketch challenge. I don't think I can add anything to what Donna E. has already said - about your use of the black pop of color with the white & the wonderful geometrics that you have on your cards. You've certainly developed your own beautiful style, and I don't think I've seen this on anyone else's blog. Always a treat to see how you've done the sketches. Gorgeous! TFS & Hugs
