CTS#210 and some sewing!!!!!!

Hi, everyone!!!!

Warning:  this is a long post and picture heavy!!!!!

I'll do the card first then you can skip the rest if you'd like to!!!
Played with the sketch up at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog, last night!!!!!  Lovely sketch by Leigh this week:

To me this sketch was asking for a vellum overlay and this is the card I have made:

Flower stamp from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.
Die cut word was a gift from a sweet friend!!!!!  Thanks, Joyce!!!!

Now for something totally different...
Some of you know that I do enjoy sewing from time to time and that I have recently been busy sewing some items for myself.  I thought I'd share some photo's of the kind of sewing I enjoy doing!!!!
A short black jacket:

I love this cream coloured one:

...and a jade one:

...and a floral one.
These jackets are all lined on the inside.  I always roll the sleeves of my jackets to show the lining of the sleeves, or when I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt underneath I will roll the sleeves of the shirt and the jacket as one, to have the sleeves of the shirt show at the bottom of the rolled-up sleeves, like the linings are showing in the above photo's  (...hope that makes sense!!!)

I love wearing legging, jegging and skinny pants and that's basically all I wear apart from a few trousers with slightly wider legs.  And then when I was paging through pattern books at a local fabric store I spotted the following outfit - so totally not skinny and NOT me, but I thought I should give it a try and bought the pattern!!!!  So I made this:

A palazzo pants!!!!  I remember how much I loved wearing palazzo pants when it was high fashion in the eighties!!!!  I made the very baggy shirt, too - it's got a big pocket on the left front and it's longer at the back, than at the front.  I love the collar!!!!

I think I might be making another one or two outfits like this one!!!! ...will have to visit the fabric shop on Monday to have a look at some other fabric to use for this pants and shirt!!!!  Unfortunately the bagginess do tend to have one look much bigger around the hips than what you are!!!!  :(

...and again something totally different!!!!
Our eldest son and a friend went fishing last night and he brought home two small shads that he caught!!!!!  So tonight I've done the fish in the oven with a lemon, garlic and butter cream-sauce!!!!  To go with the fish I made a mayonnaise potato salad with  halved cherry tomatoes, cucumber cubes, chopped celery, grated onion and cubed avo in it!!!!  Oh, boy, that was good - and of cause a glass of wine had to be enjoyed with it!!!!!  ...love it when my son brings home something that he caught!!!!!   ...so fresh and healthy (that's if you don't have the cream-sauce with it!!!!!   LOL!!!!  ...and tomorrow all the sauce will be on the hips!!!!  :(    LOL!!!!!!)

...and now I'm off!!!!  Hope you enjoyed the visit!!!!  Hope to see you again, soon!!!!

Hai Petra!
Lieve groetjes,
GerJanne

Gorgeous card, Petra! I had the thought of using vellum if I ever get time to make a card for this challenge! And your sewing looks amazing! The jackets look so tailored. I used to sew many years ago, but kids and cards put paid to that LOL.

Oh you clever girl!! Vellum. Now why didn't I think of that??!! This is a gorgeous and such a fun/happy birthday card! LOVE the yellow blossoms. Pretty darn sure this is a winner! It certainly is in my book! And your sewing... You look like a model in all the photos! Those jackets are amazing!!!! They're great, and so versatile, too. Love the length and the bright flowers on your last one. (I'm too fat these days to go with short jackets, lol!) The big shirt and palazzo pant outfit is wonderful, too. It's casual and a bit dressy at the same time! I do love big shirts, and always have! Such talent. My granddaughter who turned nine recently, got a sewing machine for Christmas and is busy sewing outfits for her dolls. I hope she continues and sews her whole life long. It's a good thing to know and do. Dinner sounds delicious. With Lent coming up, the fish sounds like a great meal to have often in the coming weeks. Maybe when we have summer here, you could bring your son and he could fish for us on Lake Michigan! We'll craft while he's catching dinner! Can't wait to see your next cards and next outfits!! Bev

This is a truly awesome post! Love this card design, and that bold sentiment is eye-catching, with the subtle patterns on the background. The vellum was a perfect touch too! Enjoyed seeing the pictures of you modeling all these gorgeous outfits. Is there anything you can't do? You are a photographer, accomplished seamstress and cardmaker, and sounds like a great cook as well! I love the fabric choices you made, and I really liked the palazzo pants. It's great to have all those fab jackets to change up a neutral color pair of slacks.. Good for you. The fish sounded yummy. TFS & Hugs (and kudos to your fisherman too! Bet he was so proud)

Liefs Thea

They look AMAZING on you, girlfriend. I think the floral one and the jade one are my favorites. I just can't believe you made them!! Do you sell them? If not, you totally should. You're a heck of a lot more stylish than I am, that's for sure.. lol From head to toe, gorgeous. And I can't forget the card. It's perfect. I love it!! Yellow is one of my favorite colors. It adds the perfect amount of color. And the layered vellum is such a great idea. Very nice, Petra!!
