A new kind of creativity!!!!!!!!

Hi, everyone!!!!!!

Remenber me?????  LOL!!!!!  I can assure you I remember each and every one of you and think of you guys sooooooo often!!!!!  And I still visit your blogs and keep up to date on what is happening in the card making community!!!!!  Yep, I am still around and I thought I would like to share with you what kind of creativity I'm enjoying lately!!!!!!

During May I started baking and I can't believe how things have worked out!!!!!!  I take orders on Tuesdays on Facebook and I bake on a Thursday for delivery or collection at my house on a Friday!!!!!  It is really keeping me busy and it is picking up all the time!!!!  I have to bake 133 cupcakes for Friday and I'm expecting a few more orders tomorrow!!!!!!  Apart from all the cupcakes I have an order for a 50th birthday cake and a cake for a christening on Sunday and another chocolate cake.  That's quite a lot to do all on your own!!!!!  I bake the most wonderful Carrot, chocolate, Bar one, Red Velvet and Vanilla cakes.

Here are some photos to show you what I do:

It is as much fun as making cards, but I do miss playing with my stamps and dies!!!!!!!  ...but I have to say I actually had some time to make Christmas cards last week, will have that in the mail soon!!!!!!

Thank you so much for popping in!!!!!

Have a great day!!!!!

A very short, but exciting visit to Cape Town!!!!!

Hi, everyone!!!!

No card today, but I am so excited about a very short and unexpected visit my husband, our eldest son, Tiaan, and myself had to Cape Town today, I would love to share it with you guys!!!!!

Tiaan was in his final year at high school (matric), in 2017 and during Oct and Nov he wrote his final high school exams as set up by the national Department of Education.  He achieved excellent marks in all his subjects and got the 2nd highest mark in his school!!!!!  (....may I say that 98% for both Maths and Physical Science is not bad?????!!!!!  .....somewhat better than mom's marks at school!!!!  LOL!!!!!  ......so glad our boys take after their father!!!!!  LOL!!!!!!)  On Sunday morning Tiaan received a phone call from one of the members of the Western Cape Province Department of Education inviting us to attend the function where the top performers in the Western Cape Province are announced!!!!!!  We could not believe it!!!!  So we traveled to Cape Town yesterday afternoon, stayed over in a hotel last night and attended the prestigious function at the Western Cape Premier's residence, Leeuwenhof, this morning!!!!    It was such a great honour to be there and Tiaan will definitely never forget this day!!!!!  The Wester Cape Premier, mrs, Helen Zille as well as the Western Cape Minister of Education and lots of other people from the Department of Education were there!!!!  Definitely this is an event where one has to take lots of photo's!!!!!!

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo's - it was taken with cellphones.

Me and Tiaan in the hotel before leaving to attend the function:

Tiaan and his father on the lawn where we parked at the venue:

In the background you can see the beautiful residence of the premier at the foot of Table Mountain.

Tiaan receiving his ceritficate from the premier.

On his right is mrs Zille, the premier and on his left is the Minister of Education:

Tiaan, mrs Zille and the top performer at the Outeniqua High School, Emma Nel.

The three of us with mrs, Zille:

And how could I not ask to be photographed with mrs Zille!!!!!!

What a great time we had!!!!!!  We returned to George after the function and were happy to arrive home safely this evening!!!!!

Thank you so much for spending some time with me!!!!!!  Till next time!!!!

CTS#250

Hi, everyone!!!!!

Remember me?????  If you don't, I'll understand!!!!!  Oh, boy, ...haven't been posting for months!!!!  A lot has happened in my life since April when I posted the last time and I had a complete loss of mojo and have not made any cards since that time!!!!!  An e-mail from a very dear Blogland friend yesterday, inspired me to open my cupboads with all my cardmaking stuff and sit down to make a card for one of my favorite challenges, last night!!!!  (You're such a darling Michele - thanks!!!!)

The sketch I used is the one up at the CAS(E) this sketch Blog.

...and this is my card:

Used my Kaleidacolor inkpad and water to get the watercoloured effect.
Butterfly stamp from PTI.
The 'happy' die I used, was a gift from a sweet friend!!!!!  (Thanks again, Lindsey!!!) I don't know which company its from.  I cut it from gold mirror card.  The 'Birthday' part of the sentiment was computer generated.

So that will be it, for now!!!!  Thank you so much for the visit!!!!

FMS#284 and CTS#218

Hi everyone!!!!

I've made two cards over the weekend!!!!  The first is for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and the other one is for CAS(E) this Sketch.  The sketches:

The FMS card:

Leaves stamps from PTI.  Stamped with Facory Green ink from MFT.
Fower stamp from Altenew.
Patterned paper from Echo Park.
Sentiment computer generated.

and the CTS card:

Done some smooshing with MFT inks and some Opalite Reflective ink on Gloss Paper.  The panel has some subtle shine from the Opalite.
Flower stamp from a local craft store, Great Impressions.
The die cut sentiment was a gift from the sweet Joyce from Cards-By-the-Sea!!!!!!   Stapled the sentiment to the card with a piece of torn vellum underneath.
I do like how this card turned out!!!   ...and I enjoyed photographing it!!!!!!

Thank you so much for spending some time with me ...your visits and comments are always appreciated so much!!!!!!

and my second take on it:

Played with some watercolours and used the same sentiment on the vellum, as on the other card.
The card base is a darkish grey.

That's my cards for today!!!

Thanks for spending some time with me!!!!!

CTS#217

Hi, everyone!!!!!

When I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, last week Thursday, I knew I wanted to turn the sketch upside down, but it was only last night that I had some time to sit down and make a card.  This is the sketch:

and my card:

Used a leaf stencil, my friend Hazel sent me for my birthday!!!!  It's from The Crafter's Workshop.
The sentiment stamps are from a stamp set, my friend Lindsey, sent me.  I don't know who it's from.
That it's!!!

Not that much time left to link my card!!!!!

Thanks for popping in!!!!
