Hi everyone.

Combining two challenges again this time.  I'm joining in the fun of another MacGyver challenge over at the  AAA Card Challenge Blog and I'm using the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.

This is what MacGyver ordered this time:

KRAFT PAPER, VELLUM, GLITTER, A STAMP & A HOLIDAY.

And this is the X-mas card I made:

I've scrunched a piece of black Tim Holtz Kraft-Core cs and sanded it to have the kraft come through.
My flower I've done with vellum and white cs.
The sentiment was heat-embossed with glitter EP.
The leaf stamp and die are from Verve.
The borderpunch is one by Upikit and I've added a small piece of the Fancy Flourish by MFT.
Added lots of bling and it was done.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Happy Christmas'.

That's it for now!!!  Have a lovely Monday!!

CTS#94 and AAA#20

Hi everyone!

I'm combining two challenges today.  Firstly the sketch over at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog and then I will also be linking to the AAA Cards Challenge Blog where the game for the week is fussy cutting.

It's raining outside and there's no chance that it will stop soon, so I had to take my photo inside.
This is my card:

I've started by taping some washi tape strips onto my card base.  I then stamped with a bg stamp by Glitz, not using an acrylic block, for the desired effect.  I then sponged over it with Bundled Sage Distress Ink and put some Clear 3D Gloss onto my stamped and sponged strips.  I then removed the washi tape strips and let it dry.
I've added the 'Fancy Flourish' by MFT.
The scroll stamp and die are from Verve.
The small leaf stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.  I've stamped the leaves, coloured them with coloured pencils and given it some shine with the Clear 3D Gloss.  I fussy cut them and added to the card front.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Just for You'.
Some black plastic dots round it off.

This is the first of two cards that I've made for the CTS challenge.  Will be back shortly to post the other one.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

RS#133

Hi everyone!

Cool wintery day we're having here in George, but it did not stop me from going for a nice long walk this morning!  I love to go for long walks in the mornings and sometimes in the late afternoon, too.  Lovely to stay fit and keep the kilo's off, hey!!

Here to post my card for the sketch challenge over at the Retrosketches Blog.

This is the sketch:

and the X-mas card I've made:

The stamps I've used is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.  I've stamped the tree twice without re-inking and the sentiment is heat-embossed with silver EP.
The boderpunch is by Upikit and the daisy die by MFT.
It's difficult to see, but I have put a scoreline on either side of my bg panel.
The three rhinestones round it off.

Before I go, I want to share two scrapbooking layouts I've made recently, with you.
I've used the same line of paper from Simple stories, for both layout.  The second one I'm going to give to my mother.
The photo's are of my eldest son, taken on his 15th birthday in May this year.

That will be it for now!!  Hope you're having a lovely day, and thanks for the visit!!

Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

CTS#91

Hi everyone!

Time to join in the fun over at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog.

The sketch for the week:

Those of you who visit my blog regularly will know that I am not good at working with watercolours!!  I always have lots of ideas of what I would like to achieve, but it just never works out the way I want it to!!
But with this card it was different!  My watercolouring turned out EXACTLY the way I wanted it to!!!  When I looked at the CTS sketch I immediately knew what I wanted to do, but I thought it would again not end up as I see it in my mind!!  But here it is and I'm so happy with it!!!

I started off by spritzing some water on regular cs and then having droplets of black paint fall onto the wet surface.  Sprayed some more water on it, let it run a bit and added some more colour here and there.  Then just dabbed it with a paper towel.  Easy peasy and I love it!!

Daisy die from MFT.  Coated the daisies with Embossing paste and heat embossed with glittery EP.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Just for you'.
Added some black plastic dots as a finishing touch.

Thanks for popping in and have a super Sunday!!!

Keep well!!
Kind regards.
