FMS#229

Hi everyone!!!!

Hope you all had a very lovely Easter weekend!!!!  Our weekend ended up being a very busy one so I'm doing this post which I planned to do on Saterday morning, only now on Monday evening!!!

On Friday morning my BIL, who is staying over at my MIL, invited us to go for an outing over the mountain to have some pizza's with them, at a farm stall.  We enjoyed pizza for an early lunch, spent some time at the farm stall and then traveled back to George and then continued further eastwards to a lovely coffee shop next to the road to have some coffee!!!  Spend some time there, too and we had such an enjoyable time when we got home again it was past three in the afternoon!!!  It rained here in George on Friday and while we were on our outing, friends of ours' from Cape Town phoned to say that they were on their way to George for the Easter weekend and they suggested that we go on a hike on Saturday morning.  In the end they came to visit late Friday afternoon and stayed till rather late and we organized to go hiking on Saturday morning and have a picnic in the mountains.  They also said that we had to come over for a BBQ on Saturday night, at the guesthouse they we staying over.  And I also had to get everything ready as we were leaving on Sunday morning early to a friend of ours' on a farm more than 2 hours' drive from George!!!!  So Saturday was very busy and this blogpost that I planned to do, never happened and there was not time to do all the blogvisits I planned for Saturday afternoon!!!  We stayed over at the farm last night and came back late this afternoon!!!  We had a wonderful time at the farm and really relaxed a lot!!!!   So that was our very busy Easter weekend, but we really had a great time!!!!!

This post is for a card I made last week to link at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog!!!!  This is the sketch for the week:

and the card I made last week:

Rose and leaves stamps from PTI.  Stamped with Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage DIs.

I was so happy when I discovered some glitter paper at a local stationary shop last week!!!!  I've added strips of the grey glitter paper to my card.

I will be popping in and visiting blogs tomorrow and during the rest of the week - I'm almost a week behind on visiting!!!!  (that's if the kids don't want to play 'The Long Dark' on my computer!!!!!)

Nearly cut-off time at FMS - have to be off!!!!

Hi everyone!!!!

A card I would be linking to three challenges.
At the CAS on Sunday Blog the challenge is to

                                                      STENCIL IT

and I will also link at the Seize the Birthday Blog. (I did not use the topping)

This is my card:

I don't have any stencils that are suitable to use for cards so I made a stencil using circle dies.  The black stenciled strip I've done on the card front, using Black Soot DI and a Platinum Planet, Brilliance Dew Drop inkpad .
For ATCAS I've got a very delicate butterfly and for Seize the birthday I've got a birthday card.
Butterfly stamp from KaiserCraft.
Leaves stamp and die from PTI.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

A little feathered friend saying hello while photographing my card!!!!!  This little guy is a Fiscal Shrike.

FMS#227

Hi everyone!!!

I've made a card to link at the sketch challenge at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.
The sketch:

and my card:

Border stamp from Verve.
Flower and flourish dies from MFT.
Chevrons cut with Tim Holtz die.
Patterned paper from Teresa Collins.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

The Faux Mother-of-Pearl technique is so popular at the moment and I decided to try my hand at it yesterday!!!  I watched a video by Loll Thompson and made a card that was very much inspired by Loll's work!!!!  Loll makes the most amazing cards and if you don't know Loll I suggest you hop over to her blog, Stamping with Loll, and enjoy her wonderful cards!!!!

This is the card I have made:

When I look at my panel now, I can see that I had too much of a heavy hand with the pearly stuff, so next time I'll use less!!!!  Did my sponging with MFT inks.
Flourish die from MFT.  Flowers hand punched.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

A few people pointed out to me that this card is good to link at the HLS CAS challenge for March where the technique to try is Faux Mother of Pearl, so I will be linking it there.

That will be it for today!!!  Thank you so much for spending some time with me!!!

Have a great day!!!

Another MUSE#156, Another NBUS#6 and #GDP026

Hi everyone!!!!

Three cards to share this morning!!!!
I've got another Thank You card to link at the MUSE Card Club where Michele has this beauty to inspire us!!!!

http://icardeveryone.blogspot.com/2016/03/muse-card-club-challenge-156.html

My second entry:

I've been inspired by Michele's roses, the diagonal line, the bold 'Thanks' sentiment and the enamel dots.
Rose stamp from PTI.
The sentiment die cut was a gift from the sweet Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea.  Joyce was so kind to sent me a lot of die cut words at the end of last year and I have such fun using them on my cards!!!  And the very sweet Hazel from My Card Attic has sent me the enamel dots I've used on my card.  Another big Thank you again to these two lovely ladies who have really spoiled me with wonderful goodies to play with!!!

My next card is another entry for Darnell's NBUS#6 Challenge and I will also be linking it at the Global Design Project Blog.

 This is my card:

The border and sentiment stamps I've inked for the first time.  Both stamps are form Altenew.
The sweet little doily and square die cuts was amongst the goodies Hazel has sent me, as was the enamel dots.
Flower die from MFT.

Last night when I visited the Global Design Challenge Blog I noticed that all the participants are Stampin' Up Demonstrators and now I'm not sure if only SU demonstrators may take part.  I couldn't find anything to say if the challenge is only for SU demonstrators, so I hope that I'm allowed to take part!!!!

I've really enjoyed making this card and I've made another one using the same idea:

The Altenew sentiment stamp is also NBUS.

That's what I've got to share today!!!  Thanks so much for the visit - always a pleasure having you here!!!

Another NBUS#6

Hi again, from me for today!!!!!!

I've made another card to link at Darnell's NBUS Challenge!!!!

This is my second entry:

The aeroplane stamp is one I got at a local craft shop, Great Impressions, some time ago, but I have never inked it up till today!!!!
I've cut the clouds and done some DI sponging.
Added some watercolour to my aeroplane.
The enamel dots was a wonderful gift from my sweet friend, Hazel, from My Card Attic, who will be known and loved by many of you!!!
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Best Wishes'.

That will be it for the day!!!  I'm busy knitting a throw, so I'm off to do some knitting - I'll share photo's when it's done.

Thank you so much for visiting!!!!

NBUS#6 and Muse#156

 Hi everyone!!!!

I went through all my stamps to see if I could find something to make a card for Darnell's NBUS Challenge.   I came across a flower stamp which is part of a set by Altenew.

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

This is my card:

It's the first time this flower stamp has seen some ink.
I've watercoloured the flowers on the card base with a soft grey and some light blue between the flowers.
Flowers coloured with my GraphIt pens.
The coloured flowers are on a vellum overlay.

Hopefully I can find some more schuff to make another card or two for Darnell's challenge!!!

I am also going to link my card at the MUSE Challenge Blog, where Michele has a lovely Thank You card as inspiration.

http://icardeveryone.blogspot.com/2016/03/muse-card-club-challenge-156.html

I've used the Thank You theme, with a raised sentiment, as Michele has and loved her flowers!!!!

Thanks for spending some time with me!!!!  Hope to see you again, soon!!!
