AAA cards #10

Hi everyone!

The challenge this week at AAA Cards is to use watercolour techniques.

This is the card I have made:

I've fussy cut the stamped flowers and painted one with watercolour paints and gave it some shine with Stickles.  I've also added some shade behind the flowers, with watercolour paints.  The flower stamp is from a local craft shop, Great Impressions and the chevron stamp is by Verve.  Added some twine and rhinestones and it was done!!
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

I'm off to have a steaming hot cup of tea - it's COLD here - we're in the middle of winter!!!

Hope you're having a nice day!!!

Keep well!
Kind regards
Petra

RS#122

Hi everyone!

Very quick and short post for a card I've made for the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.

This is what the sketch looks like:

and this is what I have made:

I've played with different shades of only one blue watercolour paint on regular cs.  Cut the diamonds with my Tim Holtz Alterations Lattice die from the painted cs and adhered to a white panel.  Gave some of the diamonds some shine with stickles.  Adhered the panel onto my card front with foam tape.
Scroll stamp and die from Verve and the 'Leafy Flourish' die from MFT.
The little flower is hand punched using a punch I've had for ages.
Rounded it off with a twine bow and some black rhinestones.

That's it!!!   Must admit I'm really having fun experimenting with my watercolour paints!!

Have to be off to give hubby and the boys a helping hand with the Feta cheese and sundried tomato beef burgers we're having for supper!!!

Thanks for popping in!!
Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

Fusion challenge

Hi everyone!

Posting my card for the current challenge over at the Fusion Blog.

This is the card I've made.  I've used both the sketch and the photo as inspiration.

The flower stamps I've used are from a local craft shop, Great Impressions.
I tried my hand at watercolour painting for the first time, but clearly I don't know anything about painting!!!  Need to find some videos showing me how to do it properly!!!
Added some drywall tape and twine and lots of bling.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Hope you all have a super weekend!!

Thanks for popping in!!
Keep well!!
Kind regards

Happy birthday, Darnell!!! (RS#121)

Hi everyone!

As most of you probably know by now,  the lovely Darnell of djkardkreations.com celebrated her birthday yesterday!!  I'm sure she had a lovely day and a lovely surprise party!!  I'm a day late with Darnell's card, but the wishes are as sincere as all of those you got yesterday, Darnell!!  I hope that this year is going to be one of your best ones ever!!!  And thank you for always putting a smile on all your blog visitors' faces, Darnell - you light up even the worst day, with your lovely sense of humour!!

For Darnell's card I followed the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.

Dp by Teresa Collins.  Dies by Tim Holtz and MFT.  Sentiment stamp by Verve.  Finished it off with some rhinestones.  I think a white bow would have been better, but I couldn't find my white twine so I had to settle for a silver one!!

So that will be it for now!!

Thanks for visiting!!
Keep well!!
Kind regards
Petra

MacGyver card

Hi everyone.

Here to post my MacGyver card for the challenge over at the AAA Cards Blog

With MacGyver in mind I was thinking 'very masculine'!!!  With all the items he needed and trying to keep the card CAS I came up with this:   (Think it would rather go through as 'nearly CAS', though!!)

and the inside:

I die-cut a big hole in the front of my card and adhered a black circle to the inside of the card.  The little kid I've put together for Mac, I adhered to the black circle on the inside of the card.  And it's all there   ....the string
           ....the corrugated paper
           ...the plastic
           ...the stamps
...and of cause the (very big) hole!!!    I've even added a gear and a clothes' peg as an extra ...cause you know....  with MacGyver you never know what he might need!!!
I was actually thinking ...maybe ol Mac would find a big MFT flower handy for some trick, or maybe just to impress some nice lady....but the boys gave that a definite no-no ... oh ghee.. pity, hey!!!!  LOL!!!
And the little star  ..got that laying around on my table and I thought it would add some colour to my card and go nicely with the little kid  ..and I was thinking, too ..Ol Mac is a star, hey!!!
The letters and chevrons I've done with several layers of cs as the trend is to do nowadays.
The stamps I've used are from Verve.

So that's my MacGyver card!!  Had lots of fun making it!!!

And look who inspected my card  ...a Fiscal Shrike

and our darling Siamese, Timothy!!!

So that will be it for now!!!  Visit the AAA cards Blog to join in the fun!!!

Till next time!!
Keep well!!
Kind regards.
