Inspiration File Challenge and a Christmas Card

Hi, everyone!!!!

As you can see in the post title I have made another card to link at the Inspiration File Challenge run by Kara Vrabel, on her blog, K and R Designs.  This time I have been inspired by a card from week#209 made by Lindsay and you can find it on her blog, Note to Self,  here.  This is Lindsay's card:

and my CASE of her card:

Stamps from Altenew.  I decided to colour my flowers and leaves with coloured pencils.
The die cut word was sent to my by a friend, very long ago!!!!  Thanks, Joyce - I've still got a few of the words you sent me, left!!!!

...and then I've also made a shaker Christmas card!!!!!
A special friend of mine, who will be known by most of you, Vicki Dutcher, from All I do is Stamp, sent me a Christmas card at the end of last year and she was so sweet to add a little envelope with some shaker mix, into the card's envelope!!!!!!  What a wonderful idea to make a Christmas card even more special to add such a sweet little gift!!!!!   I appreciated this thoughtful gift sooooooo much - no way I can find anything of the sort here in George - I would have to order it from overseas!!!!!  So to you, too, another great big,THANK YOU, Vicki!!!  I didn't put everything into this shaker, there's some more left for one or two future projects!!!!!!
So this is the first shaker card I have ever made with such great shaker mix:

Star dies from MFT.
Silver mirror card on the inside of the shaker and under the sentiment strip.
Sentiment computer generated.
I can't stop shaking the card and looking at the sweet little stars and sequins - the colours are so beautiful IRL - couldn't really capture it nicely in the photo!!!!!

So that's it for now!!!!  Lovely having you here - hope to see you again soon!!!!

Inspiration File Challenge

Hi, everyone!!!!

Do you know Kara Vrabel ...and do you know about her Friday Inspiration File posts and Pinterest board????   If not, I suggest you hop over to her blog K & R Designs ...she is one super talented cardmaker and makes the most fabulous cards ...you would want to start following her blog, for sure!!!!!  I am taking part in her fun Inspiration File Challenge and I have CASEd a card by May Sukyong Park (week #242).  This is May's fabulous card you can find on her blog, here:

May #242:

This is the first card I've made - pretty much a copy of May's card:

Such a pity I don't have a wine glass and wine/champagne bottle stamp or die - the MFT flourish had to do!!!!!
One of my very dear friends, Michele, from I card Everyone, sent me a card last year and she was so sweet to slip some die cut words into the envelope, too!!!!!!  I have used one of the words, here, but the rest I kept in a safe place for when the right project comes along!!!!  And last night I knew it was time to get out those die cut words!!!!
All the little circles were cut one by one!!!!

And then I made this card as well:

...another one of Michele's die cut words!!!!!  Thanks again, Michele!!!
Heart die from Verve.  Flourish die from MFT.
I had such a lot of fun making these two cards!!!!

I will leave you with that for today!!!!  Thanks for the visit!!!!!

Another FMS#273 and a lot more!!!!

Hi everyone!!!!!

Yes, I've got a lot of cards to share today, so this is a picture heavy post!!!!

Many years ago, when I was still single and living in Cape Town, I did a lot of calligraphy courses and done quite a lot of calligraphy work, but I was very frustrated cause I wasn't artistic enough to make the kind of items I saw in books and loved so much!!!!!!  I'm also a perfectionist so when one or two letters weren't perfectly done, I was unhappy with what I made!!!!!  I did all the formal scripts like Gothic, Italic, Bookhand and a few others, but after a few years when I got married and had the kids, I never did calligraphy again.  I have recently had a look at calligraphy websites and the modern way of doing calligraphy and I got very tempted to try my hand at it!!!!  On Friday night I was looking at wonderful websites again and watched a video or two and decided that it was time I get my pens and ink out again!!!!!  Problem is ...I couldn't find my pens  ...it has been packed away somewhere and I don't have an idea where!!!!!  So yesterday morning I went to an art shop and bought a pen, nibs and ink (...and a few other items!!!!!   LOL!!!!) and I couldn't wait to get going!!!!!  And what I'm posting here is what I've made!!!!  On a few of these one can see that I've not been relaxed enough and the letters aren't flowing nicely, but on some of the later ones I was more relaxed!!!!!  So here goes....

 Three for Valentine's Day:

There's a little rhinestone in each heart.

...and one for Christmas:

One for a special friend:

...and for a special birthday:

...and how can I make cards and not work with a sketch!!!!!!  These I've made working with the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog!!!!!
This one I will link at the challenge:

...and these I've made for fun:

Looking at these photo's it's clear that I need a lot more practising, but it's a start!!!!!!  I didn't use my calligraphy pen in the end - I've done these with a fine liner.

Thanks for visiting - hope to see you again, soon!!!!!!
