FMS#244

Hi everyone!!!!

Had some time to make a card to link at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge before we left to visit a friend on a farm about 3 hours' drive from here, sleeping over on Sunday night!!!  This is the sketch:

I turned the sketch on it's side and made this card:

Daisy stamp from Verve.  Leaves stamp and die from MFT.
Bg paper from my stash.  B&W stiped paper from Kaisercraft.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

I had fun taking some photo's on the farm!!!!!

That will be it for today!!!!  Will be popping in at everybody during the next day or two!!!!

Thank you so much for spending some time with me!!!!

How lovely, Petra ... the soft blue makes such a delicious background for the bold black outline florals and sentiment strip! Love those slender b&w stripes along the bottom edge! Hugs, Anita :)

A lovely card - it so dramatic on its side with the graphic white flower and pop of green leaves! LOVE your photos!! The shapes of the closeups and the incredible scenery in the others (and the cute dog!!) I think the trees against the sky is my fave! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

LOVE how you rotated that sketch Petra my friend! The black and white elements against the pretty, soft blue background and the softness of the vellum and the thread is fabulous! I am always inspired by your creations, the way you use little pieces to add depth and dimension - like the snippets of borders and snippets of pattern papers - talent I could only dream of emulating!! Have a wonderful week my friend! Hazel xx

Hello, Petra! Your card is gorgeous! I especially like how you placed the sentiment vertically! You did a beautiful job on this sketch - I love the thread behind the flowers - such a lovely detail! I really enjoyed looking at the photos you took on the farm - what a great eye you have for taking phtoos! Looks like you had a very interesting stay!

Liked the way you've flipped the sketch oval...and of course the lovely flowers, scrunched threads peeking from under the leaves. And the way you've done the sentiment with the scallops under it. Breath-taking photos. Just shows how an artist's eye views everyday items, but turns them into something beautiful. The scenery you've shared is just amazingly beautiful. Glad you had a good weekend away to relax and enjoy photography. TFS & Hugs

I love the way you have turned the sketch and the flowers and leaves down one side of the oval look really pretty Petra and the pastel blue background goes beautifully. I love the narrow black and white strip along the bottom too which ties in perfectly with the black sentiment strip and the black centres to the flowers. x

Sorry Petra I meant to say what fabulous photos you took too. I love the way you have captured the trees in straight lines either side of the track, the angle is just perfect. It looks beautiful there. x

I always enjoy spending time with you, Petra! Thanks for sharing your incredibly beautiful take on the sketch this time. The lovely color of nature in the sky blue of your background is a beautiful contrast to the black-and-white. I especially like that thin little black-and-white line across the bottom. I especially enjoyed spending time with you on the farm through your photos! Gorgeous scenery and textures! Hugs, de

Hi Petra! I've been away for so long, but thought about your cards often. It's always good to stop by and see what you've made. The soft blue stripe really sets the stage for your design of this card. Crisp black and white, a bit of thread, and a border of scallops; delightful! Hope you had fun on the farm, and we all would love to hear more about it! Bev

Okay before I get to your gorgeous card I have to comment on your amazing photography. Your attention of ordinary things is so artful and sheds new light on common elements.. You are getting very good my friend..
Now to your amazing card.. I love this card!! I saw it over at Freshly Made Sketches and thought 'Oh my this is amazing!'. And then I saw the author and jumped over here to get a closer look. Again your black is so well done Petra. I know I say this every time I am here but, wow, your black is never over done. Just right for the tone of the card.. LOVE!
