RS#120

Hi everyone.

I had so much fun in Blogland yesterday visiting you all, I had lots of inspiration to make two cards.  First up is my card for the current sketch over at the Retrosketches Blog.  The moment I saw this sketch I knew I had to take part!!!  Lots of lovely layers just as I like it!!!
So here's my card:

and the sketch:

For my card I used some pieces of scrap paper from Teresa Collins and SimpleStories, lying all over my desk.  The star (by Kaisercraft) I have heat-embossed with white EP on black cs, fussy cut and mounted it on foam tape onto my card.  At first I wanted to add a big white flower (as always!!) instead of the star, but in the end I settled for the star.  Looking at the photo's now, I think I should maybe have gone for the flower!!! Too late now!!  What do you think - the star OK or should it have been a flower???  Can't really make up my mind!!!
Added silver rhinestones and 3 green brads that I discovered hidden away in a box with brads dating from the time I used to add brads to all my cards!!!  Snipped off the ends and glued them down - and they are the perfect colour match for the small piece of green dp on the card!!.  Finally added 2 washi tape strips and it was done!!!
O yes, almost forgot:  Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Will be back later with my Mojo Monday card.

Thanks for popping in. I always appreciate your visits and comments!!!

Have a lovely day!!

Kind regards
Petra

Great card Petra - love the star and the various papers. The star actually looks like a flower with the rays coming out from it......but you could always make another and put the flower on that one!!! lol

Hugs.

Petra, I think your lovely card would work well for the guys with a star and the girls with a flower! x

I just adore your layering! Looks like you had a foggy day but those mountains are still fabulous!

Ooh, another lovely 'blackboard effect' card. Love this dramatic star stamp and the chevron paper behind it. Nice touch to add the vintage script paper along with the other, with the ledger peeking out. Great design, great colors, great card! TFS & Hugs.

Hi Petra, I love how you've used lots of layers but your card doesn't look cluttered. Lovely soft look. Great view from your window :-)
