VLVJune week 2 and Another CTS#127

Hi everyone!!!

Nearly bedtime here, but I have two cards to share before I go to sleep!!!
This is the sketch for week 2 over at the Viva la Verve Blog:

and the card I've made:

Patterned papers form Teresa Collins.
Verve stamp sets used:  Joyful Blooms, Lean on Me and Borderline.
Arrows cut with Tim Holtz Chevron die.
Rings and circle cut with Spellbinders nesties.

I've made a second card following the sketch over at the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog.
The sketch:

and my card:

Flower die from MFT.
Arrows cut with Tim Holtz Chevron die.
Afrikaans sentiment saying: 'Congratulations'.

Thank you so much for spending some time with me today!!!
Hope you're having a great day!!

Twee pragtige kaartjies Petra!
Mal daaroor!

Commenting on your second design:
Your interpretation of the sketch is just divine!! I the offset flower and the squares of pink and black!! Wow-za Kaarjie this is just beautiful. Puts mine to shame.. I have been following you for quite some time and I must say I have always admired your work. You have never created anything I didn't like!! Thank you so much for sharing such a magnificent creation!!

Saw your card on the CAS(E) This Sketch blog and was immediately entranced. Then I surfed through your blog...you really have some incredible cardmaking skills. Love your style, the whimsy you incorporated and your lovely sense of color. This visit to your blog was a real pleasure.

When I saw the sketch over at Verve, I thought it was too busy for me to even attempt. You've taken it and given it a clean and modern look, and I love it!!! I can still see the sketch in your card, but it's the kind of card that really appeals to me. Stunning! And your second card is equally lovely. The chevrons and the bit of black twine are the perfect finishing touch. Another gorgeous card. Have a great day. Bev

My dearest friend...you are the only person I know that can take a piece of lined ledger paper and turn it into an amazing, jaw dropping, gorgeous card!!! Love the pop of pink and of course, LOVE the sproinky threads!

Your second card has the color being the star of the show! So cool how you have pointed the two chevrons directly to the flower. Nice touch with the bling beside the sentiment too :)

Wonderful cards, Petra! Another fabulous take on the sketch!

These are both just lovely. In both cases, you have done a fantastic job of layering your die cuts without overwhelming the card. Love how you always seem to be able to get your thread or twine, or whatever it is to lay so perfectly curved exactly where it should be.

Beautiful cards Petra. You sure do how to do layers... love the circle borders on the first one with the pink flower... the thread is a lovely touch. Also like the chevron arrows. The off set rectangles look amazing on the second. What an amazing take on the sketch... and again, the thread looks lovely behind the white layered flower.

Both are these are terrific, Petra! Love the layered effect with the circles on the first card and the layered effect with the squares on the second. Great cards!

Okay now I am commenting on your first design.. And there it is again with the amazing backdrop of mountains!! That view sets off your amazing card!! The patterned paper works so well with this design. Using that pop of color for the flower is genius!! And there it is again your elegant use of black in your design is so well done Petra!! What amazing work!!

My gracious, #1 sketch would have had me running in circles, but you certainly aced it with that brilliantly made card. Love the way you focused on all the dynamics of the design, and then added that sparkling pink flower. #2 was equally amazing, and beautifully done - like I said before: I dub you Queen of sketches! You really combine the shapes & colors so wonderfully well on your interesting & pretty cards. Hope all is going well in your part of the world. TFS & Hugs

Fantastic cards, Petra!

Once again I'm amazed at how you can take a sketch that doesn't appeal to me -- the Verve sketch seems so "busy" -- and produce an absolutely stunning card from it!

And I love the second card even more!

Hi, Petra! Two fantastic card designs using the same color pallet. While both are really great, I LOVE the 2nd card! Shifting those squares in the background completely changes the look - and those larger squares (with shadows) look so dimensional! Sigh. How do you think of these geometric-nature cards? I love it. I'm sorry about not visiting as often as I'd like these days. Thanks for understanding. hugs, de
